Mr Jones the Head Teacher from Inverurie Academy came to Oyne with Caitlyn one of the school captains. They held a workshop with the senior pupils to look at values and what they would like the values of their academy to be. We worked hard to work together in the team building activities – its harder than it looks!
P6/7 had a great time on their residential trip to Lagganlia. There wasn’t much snow but that didn’t stop us using the dry ski slope for snow boarding and skiing. We went on mountain bike trails, canoeing, gorge walking and night time trails through the forest. Great fun was had by all.
We loved our skiing lessons at Alford!
Google Expeditions visited the school. P5/6/7 went on a virtual Ocean Safari and flew into outer space.
P5/6/7 did a good job tidying the borders and repainting the picnic tables.
P5/6/7 learned all about the people who used to live on Bennachie.
P5/6/7 enjoyed their trip to Techfest, we all had our fingerprints taken.
The P5/6/7 class have been learning all about the Jacobites. They created their own newspapers and scrolls – read all about it!
The P6s and P7s had a great time at Dalguise.
In P5/6/7 we have been learning about the Buddhist faith. We have learned how the lotus flower is important to Buddhists. Then we practised using line and tone with watercolours with these lotus flower pictures.
We enjoyed a K’nex enterprise challenge. We had to design a toy and make it out of K’nex. Then we had to cost it and advertise it with a poster and an advert. All with deadlines.
P5/6/7 are learning about Biodiversity and Interdependence in the Rainforest this term.
P5/6/7 are learning about their local environment by learning about how the earth is shaped.
P6/7 have learned about Energy in Science and the Victorians through their book study. They enjoyed using ink and a quill to do some writing.
P6/7 have learned about their healthy body
and keeping fit.
